Timber choice, coastal fixings and correct board spacing
Treated pine and kwila differ in cost, colour and hardness, so we match boards to your site's exposure and shade. Framing and posts in ground contact use premium timber treated accordingly, and stainless steel fixings are standard on coastal and exposed sites.
Boards are laid with consistent gapping for drainage, airflow and seasonal movement, reducing cupping. Upkeep is simple: annual wash, oiling or staining, and keeping gaps clear.
Board spacing allows drainage, airflow and seasonal movement, while annual washing and oiling or staining keeps the surface maintained. Workmanship and materials meet New Zealand standards, and matching trellis screening can also be made in-house.
